Big Ben & Westminster Proposal Location in London

One of the most iconic proposal spots in London, especially at sunrise when Westminster Bridge is almost empty.

With Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in the background, it instantly creates that classic London atmosphere — especially for couples visiting the city for the first time. My favourite time for a proposal here is sunrise. Early mornings are calm, the light is beautiful and the area is surprisingly quiet, which makes the moment feel much more intimate. Sunset can also be lovely, but it’s usually busier with tourists.

Best time: sunrise (or before 8 am on weekends)

Atmosphere: iconic London views

Privacy: low during the day, quiet in the early morning

Proposal in Regent’s Park

Regent’s Park is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful parks in London and a wonderful place for a proposal surrounded by greenery and gardens. Compared to some of the more central parks, it usually feels calmer and less crowded.A proposal here can work at almost any time of day. However, the most beautiful light is usually early in the morning or later in the afternoon, especially in summer when the park looks particularly romantic.

After photographing many proposals in London, I’ve learned that the right location is not just about the view. It’s about timing, light and how private the moment feels.

If you’re planning a proposal in London and want it captured naturally and discreetly, I’d be happy to help you plan everything — from choosing the perfect spot to timing and photography.

Proposal walk in South Kensington, London

South Kensington is one of the most charming areas in London for a proposal. The neighbourhood is full of elegant white houses, quiet streets and hidden corners where it’s easy to find a beautiful and intimate spot. I know several small locations here where tourists rarely go, which makes the moment feel calm and natural. Another advantage is the proximity to Kensington Gardens, where we can continue the photoshoot, or even step inside one of the museums if the weather suddenly changes.

Proposal at Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic places in London for a proposal and offers more flexibility than many other landmarks. Depending on the exact location and angle, a proposal can work beautifully both in the early morning and in the evening. Sunrise usually means fewer people and soft light, which creates a calm and intimate atmosphere. In the evening the city lights begin to glow and the skyline of the City of London appears in the background, which makes the moment feel even more cinematic.

Best time: sunrise or blue hour

Atmosphere: iconic London skyline

Privacy: moderate, depends on the exact spot and angle

Proposal in Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, London

Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens offer some of the most beautiful green spaces in central London and are wonderful locations for a romantic proposal. The parks work well both in the morning and in the evening, depending on the area. Spots like the Italian Gardens are usually best early in the day before they become busy with visitors. Around the Round Pond near Kensington Palace, however, sunset can be especially beautiful, with soft evening light and open views that create a calm and romantic atmosphere.

Best time: morning or sunset

Atmosphere: classic London park setting

Privacy: moderate, depending on the location
